Copyright Implications


As outlined in the Australia Copyright Council’s article ‘Websites: social networks, blogs and user-generated media’  the user of the social media platform usually retains the copyright of the content posted or created. The online service operator  has very little license to the material posted by a user. For example, as a Facebook user I retain the copyright to the content I displace on my account and not Facebook.
